Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Motor Show

Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Motor Show

The Tokyo Motor Show will begin next week in Japan, and many auto manufacturers are keeping their designs under wraps until then, including Mercedes-Benz, who has just released a photo of what could potentially be yet another concept… vehicle. The Tokyo Motor Show is known for technology focus, which makes this year even more exciting because companies will be competing to make the best fully-autonomous vehicle. So what exactly is in store for Mercedes-Benz at the Tokyo Motor Show? We have a pretty good idea.

Mercedes-Benz Vision Tokyo Concept

This isn’t an official name given by Mercedes-Benz. It is merely what internet entities are calling it as they speculate what it could be. Mercedes-Benz has already shown us two similar concepts this year, the F 015 Luxury in Motion, and the Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile(IAA) transforming car. To say the least, these cars are awesome and, in our opinion, didn’t get enough time in the spotlight. What could this new concept be that couldn’t be implemented into one of the other two futuristic designs? Given the focus on autonomous driving, and the breakthrough Mercedes-Benz just had with the Actros Highway Pilot in semi-trucks, perhaps this vehicle won’t be a passenger vehicle at all. From the picture Mercedes-Benz released, it sort of looks like a Metris or Sprinter from space.

Alternative Fuel

Alternative fuel sources are becoming more and more obtainable and producible for auto manufacturers around the world. We would be surprised to find out this car uses fuel because of the success Mercedes-Benz has already had with electric cars and the current uncertainty regarding diesel cars. If we were to put money on it, we would bet that this car will be fully autonomous and will be powered by electricity or hydrogen.

We will take a closer look at it when it is revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show next week. Until then, stop by Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale to look at our new and used inventory.
