2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Release Date

2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Debut

Mercedes-Maybach just teased its second new vehicle in in three months. First, we were introduced, quite unexpectedly, to the 2019 Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 with gullwing doors and an electric motor that could rip the moon in half. This car will probably never make it to production, but that isn’t the case for the newest reveal, the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet. We can only speculate what it will be made of, but based on the 21-second teaser offered by Mercedes-Benz, the release date will be November 16th, 2016 in Los Angeles. (more…)

Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Gullwing Doors

With the introduction of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, it is clear that Mercedes-Benz has had it up to here with Tesla. For two long, Tesla has had a tight grip on the luxury electric market, holding it just above the head of Mercedes-Benz. 2019 Mercedes-Maybach Luxury Coupe Concept

Mercedes-Benz and AMG (®) have been hard at work in the last few years rebranding vehicles and creating new ones such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the GLC Coupe. Actually, it has been hard to keep up with it all, even for us. Now, for the first time in more than two years, Mercedes-Benz gave us a little taste of Maybach glory with the picture you see above. With little to no information on the mystery car, we are calling it the 2019 Mercedes-Maybach Luxury Coupe Concept. Will it become a reality? Obviously, we hope so. Here is what we can decipher from the image. (more…)

Mercedes-Benz Whensday: The Birth of an Icon

Where did the name Mercedes come from?

Where did the name Mercedes come from?

Mercedes-Benz has a very complicated history that involves a lot of collaboration and a lot of name changes. Even today, the company is trigger-happy on changing names. For example, the GLK-Class just became the GLC, the GL-Class is turning into the GLS, and the M-Class is dead to the GLE. To figure out where all this nonsense comes from, we travel all the way back to 1902 when Mercedes-Benz received its first name change. If you are already a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, you are probably familiar with names like Daimler, Benz, and Maybach, but where did the name Mercedes come from?
