Not surprisingly, the fastest Mercedes-Benz vehicle, not including AMG\u00ae or Maybach, is the Mercedes-Benz flagship vehicle, the S-Class<\/a> S600.<\/p>\n

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz S600 is a luxury car first and foremost, but it is the only Mercedes-Benz vehicle to come with a V12 engine separate from an AMG\u00ae badge. This 6.0L biturbo V12 sends\u00a0523 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. It is not an AMG\u00ae engine, meaning it is not hand-built part for part, but it is the same size as the AMG\u00ae variant and uses many of the same tricks to produce unprecedented power.<\/p>\n

The power under the hood gives the S600 its drive, but a common argument is that the S600 weighs too much to even be considered a sports car. Although this is true in some aspect, the S600 performs when you need it to. From a dead stop, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S600 can accelerate to 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. This is less than one second slower than the 2017 GT R, coming from a 5,082-pound car.<\/p>\n

Here is the kicker. You would expect the S600 to be the worst car in the fleet for gas, right? Well, that much is true. Compared to other Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the S-Class does not get the best gas mileage, but it does get 13 miles per gallon in the city and 22 on the highway, which is unheard of for a 500+-horsepower vehicle of any kind.
