The 2019\u00a0AMG\u00ae G 63 sports a handcrafted AMG\u00ae 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that replaces the previous 5.5L V8 biturbo\u00a0engine. The 4.0L V8 delivers an exhilarating\u00a0577 horsepower and a maximum torque of 627 lb-ft from 2,500 and 3,500 rpm. The low rev range makes accelerating in the G 63 feel effortless. The eight-cylinder engine delivers muscular power at all engine speed ranges while also achieving maximum efficiency\u00a0for low fuel consumption and emissions.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the engine’s smart design and performance-enhancing features, the iconic off-road SUV sprints from 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds–which is 0.9 seconds faster than the previous model. The AMG\u00ae G 63 boasts an incredible maximum speed of 137 MPH or 149 MPH with the AMG\u00ae Driver’s Package.<\/p>\n

The system features rear-biased torque distribution with a 40-60% front\/rear split, a change from the preceding model’s 50:50 distribution, ensuring greater agility and improved traction during acceleration. The system’s off-road reduction gear has also been further developed with a transfer case reduction ratio of 2.93:1, which is higher than the preceding model’s 2.1:1 ratio. This change to the reduction gear improves the G 63’s off-road abilities, particularly with navigating\u00a0extreme hill gradients.<\/p>\n
