Max Power Output<\/h3>\n

Built for both the love and the thrill of driving, the 2019 AMG\u00ae E 53 Sedan delivers thrilling, responsive performance that will please even the pickiest driving enthusiast. The sedan generates a maximum output of 429 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 384 lb-ft at 1,800 \u2013 5,800 rpm. With the EQ boost, the model delivers an additional 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The sedan sprints from 0-60 MPH in 4.4 seconds and tops out at 130 MPH (electronically controlled).<\/p>\n

3.0L I6 Turbo Engine with EQ Boost<\/h3>\n

The 2019 AMG\u00ae E 53 Sedan is powered by an AMG\u00ae-enhanced 3.0L I6 Turbo Engine with EQ Boost. A starter-alternator, EQ Bost combines a starter motor and alternator into one electric motor. The power generated by this innovation supplies the power for the 48V on-board electrical system. The 48V battery increases the vehicle\u2019s overall battery capacity, supplying more electrical energy for engine performance and powering accessories. All of this was designed to enhance driving dynamics while also reducing fuel consumption and emissions.<\/p>\n

The EQ Boost is also responsible for hybrid functions for greater fuel savings without the need for high-voltage hybrid technology. Hybrid functions managed by EQ Boost include energy recovery, load point shifting, gliding mode, and the engine\u2019s start\/stop function. The engine is mated to the AMG\u00ae SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission featuring fast response and very short shift times.<\/p>\n
