Recently, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority just granted system approval to the 2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the EQS. This enables properly equipped vehicles to drive at speeds of up to 37 mph (60 km\/h) on suitable German highways with heavy or congested traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This allows the driver to take their attention off of the road a little bit during these situations. Applications that are even normally blocked on the Mercedes-Benz central display will be enabled while DRIVE PILOT is engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains to be seen whether Mercedes-Benz will transition this technology over to the U.S. It\u2019s possible we see some of these innovations immediately, but regulations and liability rules and laws are different in every country.
