2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Changes and Standard Features

An icon reinvented, the all-new 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class impresses with its performance, innovative assistance systems, and outstanding handling–whether on or off the road and whatever the driving conditions. The next-generation G-Class is equipped with a host of new features and customization options. Pricing for the 2019 G-Class has not yet been announced, and the only release date estimate is by late 2018. Continue reading to learn more about the 2019 G-Class changes and standard features.

Changes & Upgrades

The 2019 G-Class marks the beginning of an all-new generation for the legendary off-road beast, debuting a new design while still retaining iconic elements that serve specific purposes and give the SUV its unique appearance. The new model features enhanced on-road and off-roading capabilities, including a new independent suspension system and increased ground clearance. Other performance upgrades include a new 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission and DYNAMIC SELECT driving programs with new “G-Mode”.

The 2019 G-Class also features increased exterior and interior dimensions and legroom for all passengers has been expanded. Other notable changes include new trim options, as well as an Exclusive Interior Plus package with diamond-stitched leather and new metallic and designo paint color options.

Standard Features

The 2019 G-Class offers a host of standard equipment to enhance the driving experience, as well as new features like LED headlamps, advanced driver-assistance systems, and an upscale interior with leather seats. The standard engine is a 4.0L V8 biturbo that delivers an exhilarating 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft torque. Other standard performance features include 4MATIC® all-wheel-drive, low-range gear reduction, and three 100% differential locks.

Additional standard features include the following:

  • A sunroof
  • 64 color ambient lighting
  • Steering wheel with new Touch Control buttons
  • 12.3″ COMAND® Display
  • KEYLESS GO® and KEYLESS-START
  • ATTENTION ASSIST®
  • PRE-SAFE® System
