Gliding Into Tomorrow: Meet the Retro-Future Vision That Reimagines the Supercar

Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept

The future of performance is glowing in orange and gliding on electric power. Introducing the Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept — a revolutionary fusion of iconic heritage and next-generation innovation. At Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale, we’re excited to explore how this electrified vision pays homage to the trailblazing spirit of the Mercedes-Benz C 111, while boldly redesigning what a supercar can be.

Reimagining the Past to Define the Future

The Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept doesn’t just draw inspiration from the C 111 — it electrifies its legend. From its copper-infused orange paint to its dramatic gullwing doors, every detail echoes a legacy that helped define performance innovation in the 20th century.

However, this isn’t retro for retro’s sake. The Vision One Eleven is forward-thinking, embodying the brand’s “One-Bow” design language with sleek lines and an aerodynamic silhouette only 46 inches tall. Opaque side windows with pixel-inspired patterns and polished aluminum touches give it a visual punch that’s as artful as it is functional.

Inside the Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept

Where most sports cars are all aggression, this one offers duality. The Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept design supports two interior moods: Lounge and Race.

  • Lounge Mode welcomes occupants to recline in sculpted leather seats, stitched in silver and white, as if relaxing in a high-end lounge.
  • Race Mode repositions those same seats low and back, optimizing aerodynamics and reinforcing Formula 1 inspirations.

Retro-tech makes a bold appearance with an 8-bit-style digital dash that lights up in oversized pixels. However, beside the steering wheel is a modern counterpoint: a high-res screen that delivers sharp performance feedback. Moreover, the Magic Leap 2 AR headset brings the cabin to life with a 180-degree user experience. With it, occupants can interact with their surroundings in ways that once only belonged in science fiction.

Next-Level Performance Meets Precision Engineering

The Vision One Eleven Concept performance story begins with a compact axial-flux electric motor from YASA, a Mercedes-Benz subsidiary. This motor is more than just small — it’s extraordinarily powerful and highly efficient. Paired with a next-generation liquid-cooled cylindrical battery using Formula 1 cell chemistry, this supercar concept aims to push boundaries in both power delivery and electric range.

Key Vision One Eleven Concept performance highlights include:

  • High-output axial-flux electric motor
  • Innovative battery design with motorsport influence
  • Low-profile, aerodynamic stance for enhanced handling
  • LED exterior and interior lighting with 3D pixel effects
  • Touchscreen integration on the steering wheel
  • Fully immersive augmented reality driving experience

A Concept with Its Own Lifestyle

Taking the concept even further, Mercedes-Benz introduced the LIMITED EDITION 1 OF 111 lifestyle line. It includes:

  • A copper-accented weekender bag
  • Orange-and-silver sunglasses and hoodie
  • Matching hat and iPhone 14 Pro case

Only 111 of each item will be made, keeping the spirit of rarity and exclusivity alive even off the road.

Driving Toward a Vision Worth Watching

The Mercedes-Benz Vision One Eleven Concept is more than a showpiece. It represents the brand’s commitment to bold design, pioneering tech, and electric performance. While it remains a concept for now, its influence will undoubtedly shape the road ahead.
