What are the different trim levels of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Before we dive into the performance of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE, we must talk about the different trim levels. For the most part, picking your trim level decides how much power you have under the hood. In all, there are five trim levels available for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE.

The first trim is the rear-wheel-drive GLE 350, Above that, you have the GLE 350 4MATIC® which, as its name implies, comes with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive standard. All trims above this point, also include the feature standard. Continuing up, you have the GLE 450 4MATIC®, the GLE 580 4MATIC®, and the top Mercedes-AMG® GLE 53.

What engines are available with the Mercedes-2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

Both GLE 350 trim levels get a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that can generate up to 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The GLE 450 4MATIC® gets an upgrade with a 3.0-liter inline-6 with a turbo that provides 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque but also includes an integrated starter generator or ISG that can provide its own boost of up to 21 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

The GLE 580 4MATIC® gets a 4.0-liter V8 engine with a biturbo that can supply up to 483 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This engine also includes the same ISG with the same performance boost. Lastly, the Mercedes-AMG® GLE 53 gets an AMG®-enhanced version of the 3.0-liter inline-6 engine that not only includes the ISG but boosts the horsepower to 429 and the torque up to 384 pound-feet.
