Introducing The Most Powerful Mercedes-Benz E-Class Of All Time

2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Sedan Release Date

The Mercedes-AMG E-Class is finally coming back after more than a year of hibernation. Now that the world is used to the new design and intelligence of the E-Class sedan, Mercedes-Benz is blowing us away again with more than 600 horsepower, speed-sensitive steering, and of course, DRIVE PILOT. When it hits dealerships in the summer of 2017, it will be the most powerful E-Class ever built.

Comparison: 2017 E43 VS 2002 AMG® E43

AMG® SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-Speed Automatic Sport Transmission

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG® E63 was one of the most advanced AMG® vehicles of its time. It was one of the first to offer a SPEEDSHIFT transmission that could shift faster than the human eye could blink. Now, a new SPEEDSHIFT® is being introduced with the E63 release. It is a variation of the 9-speed transmission that showed up in the GLC earlier this year, but will feature a dual-clutch setup and will be paired with the iconic 4.0L V8 biturbo, making for one of the fastest accelerating Mercedes-Benz vehicles of all time.

0-60 Acceleration

Right now, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R accelerates to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. We thought this was supposed to be the fastest street-legal Mercedes-Benz available, but the E-Class is flipping our world upside down. With a 0-60 acceleration time of just 3.3 seconds, the E63 S is only a second behind the likes of the LeFararri or the Porsche 918 Spyder.

RACESTART® Launch Program

To get to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds, you’d think you have to be an experienced driver. Although we do recommend being a racecar driver to do this, it is now extermely simple. All you have to do is activate RACESTART® and stomp on both the gas and the brake at the same time. When you are ready, take your foot of the brake and accelerate to 60 in 3.3 seconds everytime.

Mercedes-AMG Cylinder Management

Going fast isn’t enough anymore. Consumer demand calls for cars that are fast, comfortable, and efficient. Sounds impossible, right? Mercedes-Benz doesn’t think so. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S will feature Mercedes-AMG CAMTRONIC® cylinder management software to reduce fuel usage. This means it can shut off any one of the eight cylinders when they aren’t needed. Needless to say, the E-Class is one of the coolest sedans on the planet. If you have any questions about the release date, scheduled for summer of 2017, leave a comment below.
