The 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan underwent various upgrades and enhancements for the new model year, including upgraded powertrains, refreshed design, and next-generation driver assistance technology. Upon first glance, the noticeable changes to the 2018 S-Class sedan’s exterior includes new bumpers, “triple torch” design headlights, and LED taillamps with a “stardust” effect. Design and Technology

The luxury 2018 S-Class sedan features several cabin upgrades for 2018, including enhanced design and innovative technology. The cabin offers two new wood trim options and three new upholstery options, and all V8 models come standard with Nappa Leather seating and accents. New Touch Control buttons on the steering wheel work with a swiping action, much like a smartphone. Upgraded dual 12.3″ high-resolution screens with a single bonded glass panel form the S-Class Sedan’s wide-screen digital cockpit. The cockpit offers three different display styles: Classic, Sport, and Progressive. A new, industry-first ENERGIZING® Comfort feature links numerous comfort systems, including climate control, ambient lighting, and massage for the most comfortable drive possible. 

Performance Specs

The 2018 S-Class Sedan offers three new thrilling powertrains to choose from. The S 450 and S 450 4MATIC®, both new models, are powered by a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine that delivers 362 horsepower. A 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that delivers an exhilarating 463 horsepower are equipped on S 560 models and the Mercedes-Maybach S 560 4MATIC®. The AMG S 63 boasts a handcrafted-AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that delivers a heart-pounding 603 horsepower.  

The 2018 S-Class Sedan is also equipped with several performance-enhancing features to increase driving pleasure. RACE START® helps increase acceleration time, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT® with four modes delivers a more personalize drive, and MAGIC BODY CONTROL® suspension with the CURVE® tilting function enhances comfort on sharp turns. Other innovative systems include Road Surface Scan (forward-looking detection for bumps) and LED Intelligent Light System with Ultra-Wide Beam.
