A Quick Overview of the Infrared-Remote Window Opening and Closing Feature

The infrared-remote window function is all about convenience. It allows you to remotely open or close the windows and sunroof with your SmartKey. Whether you’re cooling down your vehicle before driving or securing it when you leave, this feature adds a layer of practicality to your driving routine. To activate, your vehicle’s power supply or ignition needs to be on. You can also operate the windows for up to five minutes after turning off the engine unless a front door is opened.

How to Use Convenience Opening?

Convenience opening is perfect for those hot summer days in Scottsdale. Press and hold the “unlock” button on your SmartKey to activate the following:

  • Unlocking the vehicle.
  • Opening all side windows.
  • Sliding open the panoramic sunroof.
  • Activating seat ventilation for the driver’s seat.

Releasing the “unlock” button pauses the process. To continue, press and hold the button again. With these options, you can ventilate your car before even stepping inside.

How to Use Convenience Closing?

Convenience closing helps secure your car effortlessly. Press and hold the “lock” button on your SmartKey to lock the doors and close the windows and panoramic sunroof. If the roller sunblinds are open, holding the button again will also close them. You can operate this function for models equipped with KEYLESS-GO without even pulling out your SmartKey. Additionally, the automatic reversing feature adds peace of mind by stopping the window if it detects an object during closing. However, it’s essential to stay alert and ensure no body parts or objects are in the way.
