Can I skip an oil change?

We definitely don’t recommend skipping an oil change even once. If you let the oil in your car collect too much dirt it can cause your engine to malfunction. It won’t be able to do its job properly and will end up overheating to the point of potentially fusing together and becoming a literal hunk of junk. Once you destroy the engine in such a way, it is impossible to fix it. So, a small oil change will become a rather big problem that will be super expensive to fix. Or, in this case, replace, because you’ll either need to get a new engine or a new car entirely.

While this is a worst-case scenario, we hope it helps you to remember to take your car to its oil change on time! While it won’t really hurt to go a few miles over the recommended mileage for your oil change, we still recommend getting your car in as soon as you can.
