Mercedes-Benz Wheel Alignment Explanation. What is it and How Often Should You Do It?

How Often Should You Get Wheels Aligned?

Cars, like all things, don’t last forever. Wear and tear, as we like to call it, beats down every square inch of your Mercedes-Benz from the wheels to the roof. In fact, whether you like it or not, your car is in your garage depreciating right now! Sorry to bring that up, but it’s not all bad. There are ways to keep your car in good shape and exercise is not one of them! See, there is some good news right there. One thing that drivers commonly neglect are the wheels. Alignment is something that is easy to ignore until you can barely hold the steering wheel, but that doesn’t mean your car doesn’t need it. Actually, how often you should get your wheels aligned has less to do with driving in a straight line than it does with simply extending the life of your vehicle.

What is a Wheel Alignment?

Mechanics are quick to throw around service terms like wheel balancing, tire rotation, and computerized four-wheel alignment. What does that all that even mean? We’ll cover that other stuff later but wheel alignment is actually exactly what it sounds like. If your wheels aren’t pointing straight ahead, your car can pull itself to the left or the right, causing excess stress on your suspension and steering systems. Stress that you don’t need, you know?

Mercedes-Benz Wheel Alignment Frequency

As a rule of thumb, you should have your wheels aligned once a year. By getting this out of the way, you can enjoy peace of mind, improved fuel economy, and you can avoid unnecessary car problems in the future. It is something that is easy to forget, but makes a world of difference when done regularly.
