Over the last year, Mercedes-Benz has been hard at work to connect your smartphone and your car to the rest of the world. Whether that mean communicating with other cars on the road or letting Tiny Tim know you won’t be home for Christmas, Mercedes-Benz is covering all of its bases. Here is what we can expect from Mercedes-Benz connected mobility at CES 2017.
Mercedes-Benz Car/Secretary
A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz announced that its new vehicles will all be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto platforms. This makes connecting your phone even easier than ever before and allows you to view satellite navigation directions without typing them into the COMAND navigation pad or trying to say the address out loud.
Imagine a world where your car gets a message from another car a few miles up the road that there is an accident and traffic is at a stand still. With this information, you could get off the highway, or avoid that route altogether. Car-to-X communication can also be used to create a real-time map of the road from here to Timbuktu.
The Mercedes-Benz app is not a new technology, but it has come a long way since it was first introduced some ten years ago. With the app, drivers can now access vehicle information remotely from anywhere in the world. You can also unlock or lock your doors, start your engine, and roll down the windows.
