Takata Airbag Recall
Mercedes-Benz is the latest brand to get added to the problem with nine different models requiring airbag inflator replacements. The world-wide recall has already affected as many as 12 automotive manufacturers and continues to ravage the industry. So far, there have not been any deaths or serious injuries in a Mercedes-Benz due to the recall but other companies using the airbags have caused a lot of injury and in some cases, death.

The GL-Class is an SUV of the past thanks to the GLS, which is so far free from audit and available for sale at Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale right now! Unfortunately, the GL-Class was not so fortunate. Both the diesel and the unleaded gasoline models from 2009 to 2012 are listed under the recall for the Takata airbag. The purpose of this paragraph, however, is to make it clear that the GLS is not a part of the recall but the GL-Class certainly is.
What to do
If you are a current owner of a Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, you will want to bring it to a
service center as soon as possible. The car is drivable without the replacement but comes with a risk that the airbag won't deploy in the event of a crash. It you are unsure whether your car is covered by the warranty, give us a call or contact us online to find out!
