Mercedes Sprinter vans get new powertrain

New Sprinter Powertrain, Sliding Door System
The new Sprinter powertrain includes four different 2.0L diesel engines, a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, and a new 4×4 drivetrain. It will also the Special Delivery Door, which Mercedes-Benz describes as “an automatic, sensor-controlled double swiveling door on the co-driver’s side, which replaces the side sliding door to the load compartment.” Cool, huh?
Safety First in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Vans
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van is equipped with a range of advanced safety features to help protect drivers, passengers, and cargo. A key feature is Active Brake Assist, which can provide visual and audible warnings of an impending collision and can even autonomously apply the brakes to prevent or mitigate a crash. This system is also designed to recognize and react to pedestrians.
For staying alert on the road, Attention Assist monitors your driving patterns and provides an early warning if it detects signs of driver fatigue. Furthermore, maneuvering in tight spaces is made easier with the available 360-degree camera system, which gives a comprehensive view of the van’s surroundings. The Blind Spot Assist Mirror uses radar to alert the driver of vehicles in their blind spots, and the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert can warn of approaching vehicles when reversing.
Additionally, standard safety equipment includes Crosswind Assist, which helps stabilize the van during strong gusts of wind, and an electronic stability program. Lastly, any of these features are part of optional packages, so it’s a good idea to check the specific configuration of any vehicle to see which driver-assist systems are included.
