The variant with the fixed metal roof will have a twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine with over 600 horsepower, just like its SL 55 and 63 roadster brothers. The GT will likely favor performance over comfort because it is a more focused sports car than the SL, which is a grand tourer. What’s New For the 2023 Mercedes AMG GT?  

After an absence of one year, the V-8-powered GT63 and GT63 S versions will return in 2023. The GT43 and GT53 models from the previous year receive the same modifications as these versions of the GT sedan. A range-topping GT63 S E-Performance variant with a massive 830 horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain includes in the roster. The 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT sedan is one of the few four-door vehicles that can blend performance and presence successfully. It is mechanically based on the E-class wagons rather than the GT sports car, but that is immaterial because of how it drives. The most carnivorous models in the portfolio are the twin-turbo V 8 that powers the GT63 cars. The inline-six in the GT43 and GT53 variants provides plenty of power. Even in the more aggressive variants, the handling is surprisingly excellent and agile for such a large vehicle.
