Even if you can’t afford a new Mercedes-Benz, it is still enjoyable to learn about the new features and technologies that are released with new models. Although this isn’t true with most auto manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz is always ahead of the curve and often invents technologies that get implemented into other cars in the future. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class new features are no exception. As the S-Class of the SUV world, we are probably going to vote for the GLS-Class for president.

GL vs. GLS

Just a few days ago, the GL-Class was on top of the list for most advanced SUVs in the world. We knew it was getting replaced, but we didn’t care, we liked it. It is funny how quickly we forgot about it though once Mercedes-Benz released the details on what we can expect.

As a given, the GLS now features the new COMAND Navigation and DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes that have become standard in all Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles. On top of this improvement, the GLS will also feature the 9-speed transmission that the GLC-Class uses to make the driving experience more comfortable, faster, and more efficient.

Redesign

Both the exterior and interior underwent a redesign for the 2017 GLS-Class. Outside, it will now feature new LED tail lights, a new bumper, and two new designo paint colors. On the inside, expect to see a brand new instrument panel, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and a redesigned center console. If it sounds like it is a brand new car, let us remind you that it is a new car. The GL-Class will forever be in our hearts, but we embrace the GLS with open arms.

The GLS-Class changes the way we look at SUVs. It is proof that an automobile can be both large, fast, comfortable, stylish, and efficient at the same time.
