BRABUS Gives smart fortwo An Underdog Boost

2017 smart fortwo BRABUS Sport Package

The smart fortwo is one of the fastest cozy coupes in the world. We say that jokingly, but actually it has come a very long way since the smart name was introduced in 1994. From the beginning until now, it is an economy car. It is small, simple, and efficient. Still, BRABUS sees a race car. The 2017 smart fortwo BRABUS Sport Package offers upgrades that will help you save face in the eyes of smart haters and get you around corners much faster.

Usually when we hear the name BRABUS, we picture a dynamometer graph with horsepower reaching off the page. In the case of the smart car, there really isn’t much you can do to the engine that will add power. Even where you can add power to the 1.0L I3 with forced induction, the results are minimal. This is why Daimler, Mercedes-Benz, smart, BRABUS, or whoever makes this car, focused on aggressive suspension and style.

Suspension

The engine may be the same, but for only $1,900, drivers get more than they pay for. The smart fortwo gets a stiffer anti-roll bar and a new damping system with the 2017 BRABUS Sport Package. This lowers the car by 10 mm and makes it actually feel like a sports car behind the wheel.

Exterior

On the outside, the smart fortwo never looked better. With the BRABUS Sport Package, it comes with unique 16- and 17-inch (front and back) Monoblock IX wheels and Yokohama summer tires. The best part about performance tires on a smart car is that they will last a very long time.

Interior

On the inside, the fortwo is upgraded with a BRABUS steering wheel, shift knob, and handbrake. Three different upholsteries are available with the passion, prime, or proxy trims, and accents all over the cabin will remind you that you are driving a BRABUS, or at least something like it.
