Dead Battery

The Problem

Nine times out of ten, the issue is the service power unit, or SPU. The SPU is not an ECU as many people think. Actually it’s a small box, costing anywhere from $300 to $500, that uses resistors and capacitors to distribute electricity as needed throughout the bike.

The Solution

Unfortunately, we have never encountered a rider who successfully fixed an SPU. They are difficult to find sometimes for MV Agusta bikes, but replacing it with a new one is your safest bet and it is an easy job for the weekend mechanic.
