New Mercedes-Benz Sprinter WORKER Van Taking Care of Business

2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter WORKER Release Date

Set to go on sale in the spring of this year, Mercedes-Benz has just confirmed the 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter WORKER release date. The Sprinter has seen great success since its introduction in 1995 and it is slowly taking over the commercial van industry. The Sprinter WORKER is set to be more affordable, more straightforward, and more convenient for service companies and independent contractors.

What is the difference?

From the outside, the Sprinter WORKER looks identical to the Sprinter Cargo. In many ways, it is, but there are a few significant differences that lead to a lower suggested retail price. The first notable difference is the lack of options available on the new WORKER van. The WORKER comes with one standard wheelbase, one roof height, and one available engine. The Sprinter Cargo 2500 and 3500 models both come with three wheelbases, three roof height options, and two available engines. Additionally, the WORKER does not come with the option of all-wheel drive, but it does come with 20,000-mile service intervals, covering regular maintenance such as oil changes.

If you’re someone who needs these options, the classic Sprinter Cargo might still be a better option. On the contrary, if you’re someone who wants to keep things simple, you will appreciate the lower selling price of the WORKER. It has the same towing and payload capacities as the Sprinter 2500 Cargo and saves you a few thousand dollars.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter WORKER Interior Luxury

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter WORKER has a maximum cargo volume of 319.1 cubic feet. This is more than 200 cubic feet less than the Sprinter 2500 Cargo, but the WORKER comes standard with many comfort amenities that will cost you extra in the other models. Air conditioning, power windows, Bluetooth telephone interface, and an auxiliary port connected to a four-speaker stereo all make the WORKER one of the most comfortable entry-level commercial vans in the industry.
