Mercedes-Maybach just teased its second new vehicle in in three months. First, we were introduced, quite unexpectedly, to the 2019 Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 with gullwing doors and an electric motor that could rip the moon in half. This car will probably never make it to production, but that isn’t the case for the newest reveal, the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet. We can only speculate what it will be made of, but based on the 21-second teaser offered by Mercedes-Benz, the release date will be November 16th, 2016 in Los Angeles.

The Maybach S-Class has never before been offered as a cabriolet, and it especially hasn’t existed as an S650. Now, the S600 comes with the legendary 6.0L V12 biturbo. In this case, the 6.0 L matches the 600 in the name. The S550, however, has a 4.7L V8 biturbo, which means really anything is up for grabs. We expect the S650 will feature the same 6.0L V12 biturbo from the S600, which we can say with confidence based on the high C02 emission estimates in the teaser video. It will probably have a little more power on its own, but could also be paired with an electric motor, adding more power to the top.
Based on the fact that the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster has more power than the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe, we will estimate the S650 will have more than 600 horsepower, and probably more than 700 lb-ft of torque.
