Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Vision: Concept Lounge Technology

Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Vision Deep Machine Learning

Many auto makers are lining up this year at Tokyo Motor Show to unveil their latest and greatest vehicle concepts. From what we have seen so far, most of these automakers are sticking to similar designs that look somewhat conservative. Or at least they just look conservative next to the Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Vision with Deep Machine Learning technology.

That’s right, we said deep machine learning technology. It sounds complicated, which it technically is, but it is actually exactly what it sounds like. Deep machine learning means that the car will adapt to a driver’s habits and preferences, much in the same way that a smartphone will keep track of preferences to save time and increase customer satisfaction. Some of this compatibility can be seen in the GLE or GLC class with DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes.

Generation Z

Mercedes-Benz has said that its recent concepts are meant to coincide with the lives of the generation Z population. This generation is based strongly around media and is used to having complete control over their electronics. The Vision Tokyo is something that Mercedes-Benz thinks will be an automobile companion for future generations.

Mercedes-Benz Predictive Engine

So how will this change your daily commute? The answer is quite simply, exactly how you want it to. This can mean things like driving speed. Are you a driver who likes to make up time on the road, or would you prefer to get there in one piece? Over time, the Mercedes-Benzes Tokyo Vision will learn what your preference is and will mimic your driving style. If someone is tailgating you, do you get out of the way as soon as possible, or wait for the maniac to go around. It also has to do with interaction of the functions inside the car. All of these things can help make drivers feel more comfortable in the cars of the future.

The Mercedes-Benz Tokyo Vision with deep machine learning will be on display at Tokyo Motor Show starting on November 3rd. If you have any questions about the deep machine learning technology, drop a question in the comments and we will dig up some dirt.
