What innovations are in the 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC?

There are many different and innovative safety technology features in the exciting 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC, from driver-assist features to passive safety features. Let’s take a look at what they all are!

Safety features and technologies in the EQC

  • Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®. If slow-moving traffic is detected ahead of you, this feature will slow your vehicle so you can be better prepared to stop if you need to.
  • Active Brake Assist. This feature not only detects potential collisions ahead of you, but also has an automatic emergency braking system to help you stop quickly.
  • PRESAFE®. helps to protect you and your passengers if it detects an oncoming collision by tightening the seatbelts and closing open windows and the sunroof.

You should note that, while these features can potentially help you avoid, or at least lessen the severity of a collision, they are not infallible. The best precautions you can take is to drive carefully and remain aware of your surroundings at all times during your drive.

Does the Mercedes-Benz EQU have the MBUX system?

Hey Mercedes! No, wait, it’s “hey Mercedes.” Actually, it doesn’t matter what tone of voice you use, because the MBUX system in the Mercedes-Benz EQC is an intelligent voice control system that can take commands from a natural speaking voice. The keyword, as you may have guessed, is “hey Mercedes.” After that, you can command it to do things like playing your favorite songs, take phone calls, and even read a message out loud to you. While this may not be a safety feature, it can help you keep your eyes on the road when music surfing or taking a phone call, so it can potentially help you keep your drive a bit safer!

These aren’t the only safety and technology features that are available in the 2020 EQC! Be sure to keep an eye on our blog as we continue to post!

*PRESAFE® closes the side windows when the system’s sensors detect side movements that suggest a possible rollover. A small gap is left near the fully closed position. Seat and head restraints adjust only when equipped with memory system.
