The GLA Gets Smaller in 2018!

2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA Coupe Release Date

In the last year, the Mercedes-Benz lineup has grown immensely. Some names were changed. Some vehicles were abandoned. Others were refreshed. Some came out of the woodwork. Others got in touch with their roots like the S-Class going cabriolet once again after 40 years. Last but not least, the creation of the SUV Coupe opened up a set of doors to an untouched wing at the Mercedes-Benz building. First the GLE Coupe. Then the GLC Coupe. Now, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA Coupe is in the works and the release date will occur next year.

GLA SUV

The 2017 GLA SUV is already a compact SUV. On a computer screen it looks small. In person, it looks TINY! In fact, if you didn’t know any better, you would probably call it a sedan. According to Mercedes-Benz, it is an SUV. It features off-road DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes and comes with all-wheel drive, so we’ll play along. Now, almost as proof that the GLA is an SUV, Mercedes-Benz will be unveiling a GLA Coupe.

GLA Coupe Engine Options

The only two times a Mercedes-Benz SUV Coupe came out, it was introduced as a Mercedes-AMG. We figure Mercedes-Benz wants to show the world that the SUV coupes are more capable than the SUV versions, especially if you want to go off-road really fast. This means the first GLA Coupe that comes out might be a Mercedes-AMG GLA45! This would feature a 2.0L AMG biturbo I4 with 375 horsepower! For drivers who just like the look of the GLA Coupe, the GLA250 will be available with a 2.0L Mercedes-Benz Turbocharged I4.

Release Date

The GLA Coupe will be unveiled later this year, probably by the end of the summer, and it will be available for public purchase in the fall of 2017. If you have any questions about the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA Coupe release date
