2019 Mercedes-Benz S550 EV

Right now, Mercedes-Benz does not offer any luxury electric vehicles. In fact, it currently doesn’t sell ANY fully-electric vehicles in the United States, unless you count the Smart Fortwo. It does have hybrid options for the E-Class, GLE SUV, and S-Class, but if you take the engines out of them, they will only last a few miles. The S550e, for example, uses an electric motor, but still needs a 3.0L biturbo engine to meet driver’s expectations. We aren’t sure whether to expect a modification of the S550 or something new altogether. Could it be in line with the S600? We could definitely see this happening.

All of the Mercedes-Benz electric car concepts of the past are evidence of electric car ambitions from day one. Like them, the new S-Class will be unveiled at an international auto show. Specifically, it will appear at the Paris Motor Show in September of this year. It won’t, however be sold to the public until sometime in 2017.
